We purposefully didn't plan anything today after two busy days in a row. We did make dinner reservations at a new restaurant for us, Pacifico on the Beach, which I'm excited about.
After a casual breakfast and one last morning on the breezeway, Ricky went to the pool and I took a long walk on the beach path.
My knee gave out on me and I didn't make my goal, but I did get in a long walk.
Mango Danish, Maui Gold pineapple, and cheese blintz with warm berry compote! Yum!
I would hate to play scrabble in Hawaiian.
The Lahaina Canoe Club is at the far southern end of the beach walk.
I have been curious about this cemetery behind the Canoe Club for a while.
All the tombstones have Asian inscriptions
The workers told me the ocean waves keep pushing the sand up on the walkway and they have to keep shoveling it off.
I stopped in here to get a bottle of water and rest for a minute.
Orchids at the Lily Pulitzer store in Whaler's Village.
I had planned to walk to Black Rock but didn't make it. Ka'anapali Beach is much wider here on the north end. I did make it to the Ka'anapali Beach Hotel before turning back.
The rest of the afternoon was spent resting, trying to cram everything back into my suitcase, and getting ready for dinner.
Meanwhile, this wedding happened just below our room.
Ricky called our friend, Lee, with Maui Pleasant Taxi for a ride to our restaurant in Lahaina.
We drove down Prison Street, past the old prison where they used to lock the drunken whalers up.
Lee knew right where our restaurant was.
We had a lovely view, right on the beach. We could see Lanai in the distance and all the sunset cruises in the harbor.
I really like the vibe of this restaurant. It had a Key West feel about it.
We ordered Hawaiian brioche with upcountry honey butter as our appetizer.
Ricky had the Mahi-mahi Wellington and I had the "Cacio e Pepe' Pasta. The food was really good.
For dessert we shared the Banana Bread Ice Cream Sandwich. This was a great dining experience to end our trip.
I just barely caught the last Maui sunset on the ride back to the hotel.
