The Beginning

June 6, 2018. D-Day, grandson Casen's 4th birthday, and the beginning of our Hawaiian vacation! The day started at 5 am for me, 4 am for Ricky. Last minute packing. We said our goodbyes to Hondo, Honey Bee, and Oatmeal Creek, leaving all three in the care of our angel, Madison. We are so thankful for her and the love she gives our fur babies. Calls from Matt and Casen, Jon, and Janey gave us a good send off.
Traditionally, all vacations that begin at ABIA start at The Salt Lick Taco Bar, and this one was no exception.  Then we strolled down the concourse where I picked up refried bean on corn tortilla tacos from Maudie's Tex-Mex and fresh bananas from Juiceland. We are set and now waiting for our flight. Only 1 1/2 hours before boarding. Those of you who have traveled with Ricky know we cut this one close. Usually we have 3 hours or more to "be sure we are on time." 🤣 Seriously, I'm not quite that bad, but close! We are quite the pair!
Sitting at gate 12, full of anticipation and hope for a fun vacation and safety and health for ourselves and all those we love.
Let the Aloha Spirit Begin!
