This morning we drove south from Nairn, through some barren, windswept countryside, to the Dalwhinney Distillery. The landscape was heather covered moors, peat, and barren hills dotted with sheep. A cold and isolated place. Our guide said, "God knows, nothing grows here." They claim to be the distillery in Scotland at the highest elevation. The tour was interesting. It ended with a wee dram and souvenir glass.
