Sights of Turtle Bay

                        Resort entrance
                      Roy's Beach House

                           Ukulele lessons

A quiet day at the pool

                         Surfing lessons

Rosie bartending at On The Lip in the lobby. She is from Maui and her family and friends were affected by the fire in August 2023.

Poke Nachos. Ricky was not a fan of the sauce.

It was too cloudy to enjoy a sunset on day #2

Puakenikeni translates to "10 cent flower." These flowers were sold for 10 cents in the past. They change colors through the day, starting out creamy white, changing to yellow in midday and orange in the afternoon.

Pineapple and local banana for breakfast

This baby tiny banana was so golden yellow and flavorful.

Clouds covered the tops of the hills

This Inca dove was searching for morsels. As it got closer I noticed it was missing a foot.

The concept of Ahupua'a means division of land for use of groups of people.

This hallway provides interpretive information about stewardship and use of natural resources.

         This artwork is pretty disturbing.

                 Um. OK I guess. 😳

                  The wedding pavilion

A reminder the water can be dangerous.

Jamie O'Brian is a well known surfer. His school is on the resort property.

Looking across Turtle Bay the Opana Site is easily seen as three white sphere shaped structures.

I walked a bit of the way around Turtle Bay.

The resort as seen from the beach on Turtle Bay.

Not actually a pineapple but called the pineapple tree.

The red crested cardinal is actually a native of South America. Ricky nicknamed this bird Speedy when we first saw one on Maui.
