Kauai Day 4

Today was our last full day in Kauai. We just let the day unfold. We woke up to a rainy, breezy morning. A little too cool for swimming. I inquired about a tour of Waimea Canyon, but no luck on a Sunday.

We were at the breakfast table by 7 am. We went back to Ilima Terrace and enjoyed eggs over medium with a side of potatoes and pineapple! Yum!

There is a cactus growing out of the rock in the background. It looks out of place somehow.
I wonder about the vegetation growing on top of the building. It seems like it would add a lot of weight and risk water damage to the roof. 🤔 But very pretty to look at.

I sunburned my bottom lip (along with other places on my body that are crispy to the touch.) I now have that pouty botox look. Duck lips. 🤣

We spent today enjoying the pool after the sun came out.  We had lunch at Hale Nalu and a Shave Ice for dessert! It's important to note that in Hawaii it's Shave Ice, not Shaved Ice. 🤗  We ate it before I could get a picture. Guess I'll have to get another one. 🤙
                      Lounging by the pool.

Dinner was at Tidepools, one of the fancy        restaurants. Our reservation was     originally at 8:30 but Ricky was able to get it    changed to 6:30.

                   Koi fish watched us eat.

Ricky had a plate of seafood. Actually more like a platter of assorted grilled and chilled goodies. He later said it was really salty. I had the vegetarian option, Pad Thai. Mine was really spicy and I couldn't eat much. The restaurant was beautiful and I'm glad we went. But I do wish fancy restaurants had a plain choice, like grilled cheese or PBJ with a glass of milk.

We started packing and called it an early night. We leave at 6:30 in the morning. Thanks Hawaiian Airlines for changing our flight. ✈🏝 Tomorrow we are Maui bound! 🤗
