Caribbean Vibes

We both got a much needed good night's rest and woke up feeling better this morning. The weather is beautiful. I wanted something different for breakfast, so after negotiations we hitched a golf cart ride over to Schooner's for breakfast. Then we sat on the shore to enjoy the ocean. The waves are still pretty vigorous, but the winds are calmer and the sky is blue. I think Lee has moved past us.

                Balcony view from our room

This nice young man, Junior, took us one at a time to Schooner's.  He told me he was from Haiti and had lived here and worked for Beaches for 6 years.

                 View from our hotel lobby

Feeling pretty! Might eat a big breakfast!

                    View from our table

Smoothie bowl and pastry basket for starters

Eggs over medium, hashbrowns, ham, blueberry pancakes. The food was good, service a bit slow. It gave us more time to enjoy the ambiance.

                            Beach hangs

               We saw many parasails

                I finally spotted a mermaid!

I bought a handmade ceramic magnet to support this local artist.

Ricky really really misses his recliner. He says this chair is very uncomfortable.

We decided to go get in the water about midday. Ricky went to the Iguana Pool and I went to the beach. I stopped at The Dive for liquid refreshment on my way.

                                  At sea level

I did a double take when this Hut came sailing by. They were moving really fast

They got closer and I realized it was.            mounted onto a pontoon boat.

Grace Bay Beach is public, so one has options. This local was selling coconut drinks with pink umbrellas. He pulled his ice chest up and down the beach.

This picture doesn't show it well, but the waves off shore where the water turns dark blue were pretty big. They were really rolling in. The red flag was still up today.

I just can't get over how beautiful this Beach is. No filter. Sugar white sand and blue water. I searched for signs of marine life, but saw only a few birds.

We finished up the afternoon in Iguana's Pool and talked about all the places we would like to go someday.

Dinner was at Mario's. This turned out to be one of our favorite meals

                          Antipasto buffet

                    I had spaghetti marinara

                      Steak for the Daddy

Some kind of dark chocolate heaven with almond ice cream.

I'm sitting on our balcony taking in all the evening sights and sounds. The sun is setting. I can hear ocean waves, people laughing and talking, music playing. The air is cool and soft. I'm grateful for a beautiful day on this island.
