Pearl Harbor Day

Today Ricky fulfilled the commitment he made to himself two years ago and brought his sons and their wives to see Pearl Harbor. We took the same tour we took two years ago-The Pearl Harbor Remembrance Tour with Enoa Tours. The tour guide wasn't nearly as good as the guide we had before, but we ticked off all the boxes just the same. I think the guide we got two years ago was just so stellar, no one else could have equaled the experience we got the first time around.

Sunrise over Diamond Head. We started the day early.

Jennifer and Shana on Waikiki beach before breakfast.

We all enjoyed the breakfast buffet at the Sheraton.

Waiting for our tour bus at Aloha Landing.

Ricky and Matt at the entrance to Pearl Harbor.

After we watched the video, we were taken out onto the water to the Arizona memorial. This is part of the ship that can be seen above the water.

The names of the men who lost their lives on the Arizona.

The USS Missouri is in the background.

The USS Arizona memorial and the USS Missouri.

Big guns!

Plaque on the deck of the Missouri marking the spot the papers were signed that ended WWII.

After we left Pearl Harbor we toured sone historical sights in Honolulu. This is Iolani Palace.

The Eternal Flame.

View of Diamond Head Crater.

Our tour ended at The Punchbowl. Tour buses are not allowed to stop, so we drove through slowly.

After the tour ended we returned to the Sheraton to unwind for a few hours. Ricky and I caught the end of the Super Bowl at The Edge. Matt and Jon had a little pool time.

Sunset at Hula Grill on Waikiki Beach. Matt and Jon treated us all to supper. Thank you!

I love these vintage hula girls!

Supper had a happy ending-Hula Pie!
