Sunday Morning Musings

We are blanketed in thick wet warm fog this morning. The drippy kind that makes sounds more distant and ethereal. Even the house is quiet and still. Ringo and Honey B have retired to couch and crate to sleep again. Ricky and I are assigned to our screens for entertainment and time-passing. No plans on the horizon this morning.

Having the luxury to choose how to spend my day is a gift for which I am grateful. No pressure, no problem. I get to choose. Nothing or something. Interesting or boring, new or routine, simple or complicated, ambitious or lazy. I am captain of my ship today.

And my ship is sailing in the direction of the kitchen. I have found cooking to be a creative outlet and fun way to pass the time. With a successful lemon pie under my belt, both figuratively and literally, I have my eye on learning a new recipe today. I'm going to explore the world of empanadas and the air fryer. Just for fun. The possibilities seem endless.

"Sail on Balboa, sail on."
