The City of Angels

We all arrived in LA safely and on time. Yippee! First leg of the trip accomplished successfully!

Ricky and I headed down to the bar soon after arrival as Ricky was ready for "cookie time." At 3:30 California time, we were a little early. The kind and accommodating bartender, Salvador, kindly took care of us.
He even sent someone for more Crown at Ricky's request.

The rest of The Andersons showed up within the hour and the party started!
Anderson Boys in the house!

Girl Time!

Love these happy faces!

First happy hour and snacks. Then
supper was pizza and wings.

Old friends in new places. John David took the time to drive to our hotel and visit. We really enjoyed seeing him tonight.

Early night for us. The alarm goes off at 4:15 in the morning. 😴

ABIA

We did make it to the airport in plenty of time, despite small hurdles.
We missed our exit once and had to circle back.
I forgot to put my good luggage tag on my monster suitcase and had to use a paper one.
Ricky discovered he is wearing one old shoe and one new shoe. Same make and color, just different ages.
I'm covered in dog hair from holding Honey Bee.
All in all, for the hot mess train wreck I feel, we are doing good.
We are just both so tired..Ricky woke up at 3 am. I got up at 5 after a broken night's sleep.  Maybe we can rest on the plane.
LAX, here we come!

Pre-trip Snake Bit

Everyone knows Ricky and I are planners. Even micromanagers. We drive each other and everyone else crazy planning and pre-planning.
So why was our pre-game for this trip so snake bit?
The plan was for Ricky to take Ringo to charm school in Montgomery on the 30th and go by the bank to get $ for the trip. (A side note-Ringo is going to be in boot camp for a while, to learn indoor manners.)

Ricky left Ringo unattended for a few moments yesterday morning, and Ringo thanked him by chewing up his cell phone and hiding it under the couch. 😂🤣😖

Ricky had to spend some time getting a new phone and then didn't get by the bank.

Usually we are at the airport bright and early with time to spare.  This morning we had to go to Marble Falls to drop my car off for repairs for an unfortunate oil leak. Now to Cedar Park to take Honey Bee to the pet hotel. Then to the bank. Then to get tacos. Then fighting morning rush hour traffic to the airport.  Hope we make it! 🤞

Hawaii - Third Time's Charm

Here we go again!
We are headed out for Hawaii for the third time. As it turns out, Hawaii is our happy place!
This trip is special and different for us. Ricky is fulfilling a calling to take his sons on a pilgrimage to visit Pearl  Harbor. He felt much the same when he took them to the Alamo years ago. So the first leg of our journey is dedicated to honoring the memory of sacrifices made and lives lost on December 7, 1941.
There will be plenty of time for Fun, Fun, Fun! Matt celebrated his birthday on the 29th, so we will celebrate with him on the trip. Jon was honored at work with the Top Gun award last week. We are so proud and hope to celebrate his accomplishment as well.
We are planning a fun trip with Matt and Shana and Jon and Jennifer. Our first family trip!
Ricky has combed, re-combed, and combed over the details.  Reservations, seat assignments,  confirmations, etc., etc. Everything he can control has been controlled, twice. 😂
I'm hoping for an awesome trip and putting National Lampoon Hawaiian Vacation out of my mind!
